About the Speaker

Nighat Said Khan has been involved in the women's movement in Pakistan and globally. Her point of departure is within the Socialist Feminist tradition both in terms of her activism and her conceptual/academic understanding. She is a founding member of Women's Action Forum; and the Executive Director of the ASR Resource Centre and Dean of Studies of the Institute of Women's Studies, Lahore. Both ASR and the IWSL seek to address the dialectical relationship between theory and action.
