UT Austin Faculty Discuss Gender Studies at LUMS

On January 16, 2016, the Saida Waheed Gender Initiative hosted a gender studies roundtable at the university with faculty visiting from the University of Texas, Austin.

Representing a range of disciplines, the visiting faculty included Kamran Asdar Ali (Associate Professor Anthropology), Barbara Harlow (Professor English), Heather Hindman (Associate Professor Asian Studies and Anthropology), Robert Jensen (Professor Journalism), Robert Oppenheim (Associate Professor Asian Studies), Snehal Shingavi (Associate Professor English), and Polly Strong (Professor Anthropology).

With faculty from Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences (MGSHSS), and Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL), as well as Syed Babar Ali and Justice (Retd.) Nasira Iqbal, they spoke to the history of the UT Austin program and engaged in discussion about the challenges and future of gender studies at LUMS.
