In the run-up to Olomopolo Media's new play Mushk - Fragrance, The Saida Waheed Gender Initiative hosted actors Sania Saeed and Nimra Bucha at LUMS. There was a small presentation followed by an interactive discussion with the audience on gender, theatre and love.
Sania Saeed is a veteran actor from Pakistan, with a career spanning more than two decades. She currently serves as the president of OLOMOPOLO Media and was the founding member and producer of Katha Theater, an organization committed to bringing theatre to the masses.
Nimra Bucha is a television and stage actor, working in Pakistan and the UK. She has appeared in a variety of television serials including Daam, Mera Yaqeen, Baandi to name a few. She made her onscreen debut in Manto, playing the role of Manto’s alter ego, and continued to work on films like Ho Mann Jahaan, Jeewan Hathi and Azad. She has also devised and performed the one-woman show, The Dictator’s Wife for Chaudhry Channan Productions and was also the director and actor in Shoot/Get Treasure/Repeat. She has also been involved with theatre productions by the NAPA Repertory Theatre.
OLOMOPOLO Media has established itself as a cultural and social enterprise, pivoted around the design, production, promotion, and training of performing arts and visual media. Since its establishment in 2013, OLOMOPOLO has been producing and conducting various projects for social intervention. The core objective of the organization is to enhance the value of visual and performing arts and promote social sensitization around certain issues.
